This bow-building class is open to children ages 10-16 years. The class allows children to work with bowyers and get the hands-on experience from start to finish making their own bow.
This is a 2 day, all day event. Please send a bag lunch with the child for both days.
It is strongly encouraged that a parent stays to assist their child and experience their accomplishments as this is a total hands-on class. Class size is limited
Join us on June 29th at 1:00 pm to rededicate the Tree of Peace. Planted in 1989 for the Washington State centennial to “Remember to celebrate the wisdom of living as we do remember the things we yet need to know. We are one people.” in honor of the first peoples of this land. The Museum will also be hosting Indigenous artists and speakers throughout the day. Need to do some last minute shopping? How about a warm activity for the kids? The Museum gift shop, inside displays, and village green will be open for visitors December 16th, 17th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We hope to see you here!
Come on down for a wonderful celebration where families come from near and far for good music, fun, and educational activities for the whole family. Gold-panning, pony rides, and sipping sarsaparilla in the saloon, are some of the family favorites, as well as enjoying our museum and log cabins.

Do you make the best apple pie in town? Enter your pie in the Apple Harvest Days Pie Contest, sponsored by Apple Annie’s, to find out! There will be youth (18 and under), adult, and senior (60+) categories, with a first and second place cash prize per category ($50 first place, $25 second). Bring your pie to the Cashmere Museum & Pioneer Village, 10am-4pm on Friday Sept, 30th to enter. Three judges will taste each pie Friday night, and winners will be announced the next day at Apple Harvest Days, Saturday Oct, 1st! The pies will be displayed in the Museum lobby in the morning. Bakers can pick up their pies to take home after the winners are announced.

Wenatchi Wear & the Cashmere Museum are proud to host this event. Authentic traditional teachings are valuable in the Native American culture. Flexible cylindrical baskets, also known as “sally bags'“, are a hallmark of American Indian Tribal weaving.
This 6 (12) - hour workshop, will be led by Julie Edwards (Colville), who mentored under master weavers, Craig Phillips, Bernadine Phillips, and Joe Fedderson. In this workshop students will learn how to make two small Plateau twined sally bags using acrylic yarn and hemp. Instructions will include how to begin and end the basket and add yarn.
*Class supplies included.
Class is limited.
Day 1 - Beginners Class. Saturday March 19, 2022: 10 am - 4 pm. Students will learn how to twine the round sally bag.
Day 2 - Advanced Class. Students must have completed Beginners clas through Cashmere Museum or WRI. Sunday March 20, 2022: 10 am - 4 pm. This course will include the design with full turn twist and possible working with three colors.
With a lunch break - option to order food to be delivered at an additional cost, or bring your own sack lunch.
Cost: $60 per class or $110 for both classes. Optional lunch provided for an additional $15/day
