APPLE DAYS – October  2010

Apple Days is our annual fundraising event for the year, and we sincerely hope that all our members, their families and the town of Cashmere will come out to enjoy the festivities and support our museum. This years festival promises some great events and talent, some from the previous years and also including some new talent and events. New this year are the Tillicum Riders from Wenatchee. This well known and talented equestrian group will be showing horses and pack mules, holding demonstrations, and giving rides. Returning this year is Joan Tucker. A very popular and wonderful performer, Joan Tucker is slated to perform in Beggar and Builder, the story of Mother Joseph this year. Well known artist William F. Reese will be on hand demonstrating his wonderful talent. The Cashmere Museum will also host an Old Time Gospel singing group to be an accompaniment to the Saint Francis Xavier Mission Church service on Sunday. Of course we will have all our much loved regulars participating, such as the Oregon Trail Travelers, the Shootists, an Indian Encampment and Flintknapping and Gold panning demonstrations. There is also an Apple Pie Contest which is open to everybody who wishes to enter their favorite homemade Apple Pie. Apple Days also features the Friends of Old Mission Book Sale and Bake Sale. (If you’re craving some tasty homemade goodies, this is the place to be!) This is also the weekend the Friends of Old Mission raffle off that exquisite Amish handstitched quilt that has been hanging in the museum lobby. Music this year will be an outstanding compliment to the events as it has been in past years showing off our local talent. Be sure to check out page 2 for more on the Apple Days music festivities! On Saturday, the first day of Apple Days, there will be a free breakfast included with the price of admission. The breakfast is compliments of our friend and museum supporter John Bryant of Jasco catering
