OUR MISSION STATEMENT
To collect and preserve the history, both natural and human, of the local
region for education,
research and public viewing in an informative, exciting and secure manner.
The Chelan County Historical Society, a 501(c
)(3) nonprofit organization, was formed in 1959 with the purpose of collecting,
displaying, and preserving local and regional history. This organization owns
and operates the Cashmere Museum & Pioneer Village. Funding sources include
donations, admission fees, gift shop sales, memberships to the society, and grants.
Funding for the operation of the museum is supported by many wonderful members
and volunteers. The Friends
of Old Mission is a group of volunteers who are dedicated
to helping and supporting the museum.
The museum offers a fun and educational treasure hunt for children, and a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy
learning about the local and regional area.
This exceptional, world class community-owned facility, ranks among the nations
finest museums. It is recognized, supported and nurtured as an extraordinary
community treasure. Over 10,000 visitors from 20 countries toured the museum
during the 2008 season.
The Cashmere Museum also offers tourist information about the local area. Find
